Me: Is it a German Shepherd puppy?
Mark: (softly) No. Not because I wouldn't, but because I thought it was too soon.
Me: It is. To be honest, I don't want a new puppy. I want Fritz. If I got a new puppy, I'd probably be disappointed when it didn't have Fritz' personality.
Mark: yeah.
I just want to come home and find him here. find out it was all a bad dream. that he's fine. and happy. and healthy.
and home.
