Mom's Trip to Bountiful.... part 2

Saturday morning Mom, Janelle and Danny got up and headed to the Dutch Oven Bakery.  We were told by a local they had THE BEST pastries in town not to mention everyone wanted their coffee.

The three of them had time to kill, so they wandered around Boone.

They visited the Boone Historical Society to brush up on their Boone history.

They found the house Mom lived in while in High School.  (She lived with her dad and step-mother at this time.) Although the house is still standing, it has seen better days and appears to be abandoned.

They also went by where the old High School was... even though Mom knew it had been torn down years ago.

She found the address of where she lived with her mother when she was a young girl.  That house is now gone as well, and the location is an empty lot.

After their tour of Boone, the three met back up with Becky and Sherry for brunch at the Saints Avenue Cafe.

While all this was happening, those of us at the airbnb had a relaxing morning and headed to The Red Rooster Cafe for breakfast.

Once eating was taken care of, we ALL headed to Ames to view our grandparents' graves.

**Mom's dad and step-mother; Lisa, Janelle and Danny's grandfather; Jenni's great grandfather;  Eden, Ila and James' great, great grandfather ... Becky and Sherry's grandmother**

At this point we all hugged Becky and Sherry.  It was wonderful to spend time with them, but it was time to say goodbye.

Back to Iowa Falls.
