By now, unless you've been hiding under a rock, or you really don't know me, you know I sell Mary Kay. I can go on and on and on about all the reasons I love my Mary Kay, but one of the biggest reasons is because part of the whole idea behind this company is enriching the lives of others. I have been so blessed in my life, and I love, love, LOVE helping others. And this is, after all, the season of giving.
I realize there are many wonderful people and organizations who all rely on our donations, but what jumps out at me, what speaks to me, what knocks me upside the head is comforting some lonely elderly people this holiday season.
As our holidays are filled with family and carols, cookies and snowmen, hustle and bustle it's easy to forget that there are people who will not be filled with family and love for Christmas. People who are lonely every day, but somehow the holidays make that loneliness feel tenfold. Or more.
I want to reach out to those people and let them know they are not forgotten. They are loved. We do care for them, and we do think of them.

I have spent some time with our Pastor, and he has rolled this over in his brain and discussed it with a few others, and we have come up with some Grandparents who are in need of love and caring this Christmas.
I will be making gift baskets for each Grandparent.

(I tried to find products that were good for sensitive skin, gender neutral and would help most for dry skin. Our skin really does dry out as we age .... as I am quickly finding out for myself.)
I will also include at least one, if not two, pairs of socks with each basket and, to help with the festive feel of the holiday, a Christmas ornament. I have not found the ornaments yet, but I will be out shopping soon. I will include a picture when I find what I am looking for, but I am thinking some sort of nativity, angel or along those lines. I do not want something to hang on a tree. Not everyone will have a tree, so I'm thinking something which can simply sit on a table or shelf.
I hope to take pictures along the way to share so that in future years this project will grow and grow so we can help more and more people.
