My cousin, Beth, just received the highest honor one can achieve in Mary Kay.
If you are now, or have ever been, in the world of Mary Kay you absolutely understand the honor of receiving "Ms. Go-Give".
When Mary Kay Ash began her company, she was all about women helping women. Women building up women.
We all know we grow when we help others grow. We excel when we help others excel. The more we give, the more we help, the more we love on others the better it is for them, but oh, how much better it is for us as well.
Mary Kay Ash built her company on these ideas. These ideals.
This company is made up of absolutely, wonderful, fantastic, giving women. Thousands of them.
I had a brief Mary Kay career. I sucked at Mary Kay. I gave away WAY more Mary Kay than I ever sold. But I will forever be thankful to God for my Kary Kay years.
For starters, I had Beth as my Director, my mentor. And she is amazing. She has so much patience and love and knowledge to share. She taught me so very much. And not only about Mary Kay. About life. About faith. About giving. About serving.
But also, because through my Mary Kay years I met some of THE MOST amazing women. Beautiful faith-filled women who I have looked up to, learned from and leaned on.
When you have an entire national company that is made up of thousands and thousands of amazing, giving women, you can see the prestige in winning the honor of "Ms. Go-Give".
I hope I am not rambling on too much, but I am trying to show how humbling it is to, not only be nominated for this award, but to win it.

If you just read Beth's words, you noticed she mentioned a year of 'highest highs and deepest lows'.
That has been her year.
This is what she had to say about her year:
"When things settle down." These words- one of the biggest lies we can believe- that life will some day settle down. Friends- life won't settle down- but your soul and spirit can. They can slow and rest in the peace of God all while working and serving and rising up to the challenges that will... hear me... just keep coming. Today I wake up to an amazing celebration of my team that just completed our BEST YEAR EVER in business. I will post congratulations on countless friends that had incredible wins in the Mary Kay world.I also wake up today still in the middle of some incredibly challenging life yuck. And so do you. My photo app is bursting with evidence of Gods goodness, provision in another year of unexpected joys and sorrows. I love how Beth refers to it as "challenging life yuck".
I will not share Beth's personal story. If you know Beth, you already know it.
If you don't know Beth let's just say that whilst she was having her BEST year career wise, she was struggling with some gut-wrenching developments in her personal life.
Beth knows what many of us find out day by day, year by year. Life is beautiful. And life is devastating. And sometimes life is both - at the same time.
But notice, even as she deals with her situation, she is continuing to help and encourage others.
